Bodied beautiful

Beyonce has rocks in her head if she doesn't make Get Me Bodied the next single off B-Day. The video she's made to accompany the album re-release is THE COOLEST THING WE HAVE SEEN IN A VERY LONG TIME! You don't see choreography like this anymore! And who is that guy she is dancing with? Someone give him a record deal! The video features Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams and Solange Knowles. Watch it over and over again here (or you can buy the album with bonus DVD and watch it home on your plasma).

Andrea Corr has gone all "cool"

Andrea Corr has just released the video for her solo debut single Shame On You (To Keep My Love From Me) from the album Ten Feet High which is out July 23. The album was produced by Nellee Hooper who Andrea was a fan of due to his work with Bjork and Massive Attack. She says the song is about war and is "a protest song through the prism of love, and how these men and women who go off to war are leaving behind partners they will never marry and children they will never have." Heavy. But with a disco beat! We like.

It's Not Absolute Garbage!

The rumours have been going around for months, but Garbage just confirmed on their official website that their first ever Best Of album Absolute Garbage is in fact real and coming out July 16th, following the release of brand new single Tell Me Where It Hurts. We are more excited about the limited edition 2 CD set featuring a disc of remixes from the likes of U.N.K.L.E., Massive Attack, Todd Terry, Crystal Method, Fun Lovin' Criminals, and Felix Da Housecat!
Fans are unhappy that not all the videos will be included on the DVD (no Androgyny?), frankly there is plenty of room so we don't know why they left so many out.

Here is the tracklist for the Remix CD

THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH – UNKLE REMIX
WHEN I GROW UP – KAGZ KOONER REMIX
SPECIAL – BROTHERS IN RHYTHM
BREAKING UP THE GIRL – TIMO MAAS REMIX
MILK – MASSIVE ATTACK REMIX
CHERRY LIPS – ROGER SANCHEZ REMIX
ANDROGYNY – FELIX DA HOUSECAT REMIX
QUEER – RABBIT IN THE MOON REMIX
PARANOID – CRYSTAL METHOD MIX
STUPID GIRL – TODD TERRY REMIX
ANDROGYNY – NEPTUNES REMIX
YOU LOOK SO FINE – FUN LOVIN’ CRIMINALS REMIX
PUSH IT – BOOM BOOM SATELLITES MIX
BAD BOYFRIEND – GARBAGE REMIX

Head to the website for full tracklistings.

Dazza's disko dozen!

Disko Dollies may have to go offline a week (a) to recover from the apoplectic fit sustained on receipt of a certain disk in the mail sent by a Mr Darren Hayes and (b) to actually get through the said disk, being an epic 12 dance tracks long! Darren is preparing to ship out these mixes of Step Into The Light to clubland following the quiet success of the sneakily disseminated Into The Light (Main Mix) by Shave & Sugar, out now for 10 weeks and currently sitting in the ARIA (Australian) club top 20. But, as far as we know, the first single is still to be On The Verge Of Something Wonderful in July.

What's Kylie been up to?

A new message from Kylie posted on her website reveals the pop princess is working on a number of projects, including a two hour documentary film that was made in the lead up to the Homecoming tour, a musical film, and of course her new album. The doco will be called White Diamond and will feature two new jazz (?!) songs called I'm Hip and You Are There.

Update! Hey You free download at MSN

It's already out! And it's free for 7 days. Download Hey You here. It is better than the demo version. We won't trash the lyrics because it's all for a good cause. Onya Madge.

Hey You snippet leaks

A 45 second clip of a clearly unfinished demo version of Madonna's Live Earth single Hey You has leaked. We hope the finished version is better!

These are the lyrics (as far as we can tell)

Hey You, open your heart
It's not so strange,
You've got to change this time.
Hey You, remember this,
Your love it's real
Including the way you feel.
Keep it together we'll make it alright,
A celebration is going on tonight,
Poets and profits will end in what we do,
This could be good,
Hey You.

Hmmm, okay Mads....

Step Into The Light video

Darren's delicate things continue to delight! Not only is the Wayne G remix of Step Into The Light # 1 in the Dolly Dozen chart, there is now a stunning animated video for track, created by Damien Hale of onedotzero. We prefer the emotion in the Who Would Have Thought video, but we love this one too. Darren is creating videos for a swag of tracks on the new album to be released on a special DVD next year, and we can't wait!

Are you sure they are Russian?

Watch out Girls Aloud.....

Hey You!

Madonna has recorded a new song with Pharrell, Hey You, for the Live Earth concert. It will not be a commercial single although it will be avaialble as a Live Earth charity download single. Apparently it's "mid tempo" and all about making the world a better place (as you would expect). She could have just have sung History (obviously we mean the original leaked demo version and not the boring version that we ended up with on the Jump single).

Click here for info on Live Earth.

Meanwhile during an interview to promote Shrek the Third, Justin Timberlake spoke of working with Madonna on her new album saying "She’s Madonna.... It doesn’t get any cooler than that! We actually wound up with 5 or 6 really good songs, some unfinished, some finished, and we're gonna go back in July and finish some more stuff".

Rihanna in actual-decent-remix shocker

As we brace ourselves for the supposed brilliance that is Rihanna's next single Shut Up And Drive, it has reached our attention that Rihanna Inc have spun out a pretty darn hot looking lineup of remixes for the current single, Umbrella. And wait for it.. NO RAP!! (in the Haji Emanuel at least). The girl is clearly undergoing some much needed diskodollification and, for this week, we approve. Promo tracklisting:

1. Umbrella (Seamus Haji & Paul Emanuel Radio Edit) 3:59
2. Umbrella (Jody den Broeder Lush Radio Edit) 4:41
3. Umbrella (Jody den Broeder Destruction Radio Edit) 4:25
4. Umbrella (The Lindbergh Palace Radio Edit) 3:52
5. Umbrella (Seamus Haji & Paul Emanuel Club Remix) 6:34
6. Umbrella (Jody den Broeder Lush Club Remix) 9:11
7. Umbrella (Jody den Broeder Destruction Club Remix) 7:56
8. Umbrella (The Lindbergh Palace Remix) 7:52
9. Umbrella (The Lindbergh Palace Dub) 6:46

The Berge Emerges

That Norway would rather vote in some Manchester United fan singing Eye Of The Tiger as their Idol is beyond all free-thinking individuals in the more developed Idol-franchise nations of the world. But, as you'll find we will do quite often here at Disko Dollies, we have embraced the one that got trodden all over by the sweaty general public. Pretty Scary Silver Fairy is apparently Ms Berger's 2nd effort at an album, and, on the whole, we like it. Samantha is just where we wanted Rachel Stevens to be round about now, and Will You Remember Me is exactly where Stock Aitken Waterman would be if they didn't have that big fight over the coke. Visit Margaret's myspace to hear 3 tracks from the album.

Watch the pretty flairy video for Samantha.

Don't panic panic, don't act too manic manic

Thankfully the next Groove Armada single will be Out Of Control (Song For Mutya), and that Mutya won't be releasing under her own name (even though it's on her new album), thereby saving her solo career from an early oblivion by tagging behind the credded-up geniuses who are Groove Armada. Yay!! Londoners, head to Finsbury Park in North London on May 15 to be in the video (refreshments provided!) All info on Mutya's website.

Roisin's Overpowered leaks

The minimalist electro gem that is Roisin Murphy's return to form is getting many punters moist. Overpowered bodes well for the new album, due out October, excruciatingly. As for the single, look forward to remixes by Seamus Haji and Kris Menace prior to July release. A follow-up, Let Me Know, has already been pencilled in for September.

Up yer Volta

Bjork's new album Volta hits stores in Australia next week. It's said to be her most "up", commercial work since Post. It features collaborations with Antony from Antony & The Johnsons, the ubiquitous but somehow necessary Timbaland and Lightning Bolt's Brian Chippendale.
Bjork told daily internet publication Pitchfork: "With this one, it was different because I knew more emotionally what I wanted. And because I'd done two or three projects in a row that were quite serious, maybe I just needed to get that out of my system or something. So all I wanted to do for this album was just to have fun and do something that was full-bodied and really up."

Track Listing:

1. Earth Intruders
2. Wanderlust
3. The Dull Flame Of Desire
4. Innocence
5. I See Who You Are
6. Vertebrae By Vertebrae
7. Pneumonia
8. Hope
9. Declare Independence
10. My Juvenile

Dannii's back in the Australian Charts! (kind of)

Our favourite Queen of the disco, Dannii, released her Australian Exclusive single "He's the Greatest Dancer" three weeks ago. Unfortunately it only reach # 37 on the Aria chart (boo!). This was mainly because no one downloaded it, it fared much better in the physical chart. It also made it to #6 on the Dance Chart and is currently # 11.

Support our fav Minogue by buying the single here.
