We are quite surprised at ourselves for never having mentioned the brilliant Rufus Wainwright here at Disko Dollies. Well after seeing him in concert on Saturday night we thought it was high time we rectified that. Rufus was in town promoting his amazing latest album Release the Stars.
Mel B let it slip during an interview that there would be no more Spice concert dates after the US shows, so all that talk of "doing it for the fans to say goodbye" seems to be incorrect after all. Oh well, maybe there will be a DVD so they can take more of their fans cash, even though this was never "about the money".

In My Arms was the most watched music video on youtube yesterday. It had 300,000 views in 7 hours. That's fantastic promotion for an album that hasn't been doing terribly well, isn't it! Well no, not according to EMI who have REMOVED the video and the Wow video from youtube. We don't understand, we thought video's were made to promote albums. Maybe they don't won't to sell any more copies of X?
Scarlett Johansson's album of Tom Waits covers is getting an international release on May 20. The album will be called Anywhere I Lay My Head and will have one original track. Hopefully this will be more Toni Collette/Minnie Driver and less Russell Crowe.
It's taken a decade but Portishead are finally set to release their third album titled, er, Third. It will be released in the UK on April the 14th and will have 11 tracks.

Kylie.com has announced details for second single from X, Wow. It will be released in the UK on the 18th of Feb and the formats will include three unreleased tracks, Cherry Bomb, Do It Again and Carried Away and Wow remixes by CSS, David Guetta and MSTRKRFT. She has been filming the video this week.
Dannii Minogue has THIRTEEN remixes of Touch Me Like That on The Australian version of the single. THIRTEEN! It will hit shops this Saturday. You can order it and listen to samples of all the mixes here. Amazing.
Paula Abdul is releasing a new single, her first recording in more than a decade! Dance Like There's No Tomorrow is the lead single from Randy Jackson's Music Club, Vol. 1 which features tracks Randy has produced. Other artists on the album include Mariah Carey, Joss Stone and American Idol winner Katherine McPhee. Paula's track will premier on Ryan Seacrest's Kiss FM show on January 18th and the video will premier during the Super Bowl on February 3rd.
