A Killers Christmas with Elton & Neil
The Killers & Elton John featuring Neil Tennant AND Stuart Price? It almost sounds like a Christmas single hoax. And it kind of is, once you see the video... But seriously, we should all be thankful that our letters to Santa were answered and four of the most stellar of pop entities of the last four decades have spectacularly yet disastrously collided. Think charity before melody. Joseph (Better You Than Me), like the Kylie/Coldplay duet, is a fundraiser for Bono's RED project, helping people living with HIV/AIDS in Africa.
Pet Shop Purists don't despair: the new PSB album is fully mixed and complete in all its Xeno glory with a release date provisionally set for March 23.

New PSB single, album release info
Pet Shop Boys have announced their new album should be out March next year with a single to precede, at this stage Love Etc, co-written with Xenomania. The long-awaited album, now in final mixing stages, contains a number of tracks from the production and writing team behind Girls Aloud, Sugababes and Annie. But it won't all be swizzled-up 60s pop confections. Orchestral arrangements accompany at least two other known tracks, Legacy and Beautiful People, full string and brass sections have been recorded, and legendary ex-Smiths and Electronic guitarist, and longtime PSB-collaborator, Johnny Marr, featured on a number of tracks during the sessions. Behaviour meets Very perhaps?
In the meantime fingers crossed for a PSB mix of The Loving Kind, their co-written track for Girls Aloud, while mixes for their Sam Taylor-Wood production I'm In Love With A German Film Star, featuring Neil's backing vocals, are now available on UK iTunes. Check out this awesome Stuck In The 80s Mix by Mark Reeder.

Kylie X Tour Edition = Boring
Warner has announced the tracklisting for the Australian tour edition of X. Basically it's a heap of remixes that you would already have if you bought the singles. Even though there are about a million awesome unused songs from this era they have foolishly decided to include none of them. Not even the amazing Cherry Bomb which was on a UK single but not an Australian one got a look in. Another wasted X opportunity, just like the album itself.
Tracklist:
1. 2 Hearts (Harris & Masterson Extended Mix)
2. 2 Hearts (Alan Braxe Remix)
3. The One (Freemasons Vocal Club Mix)
4. Wow (David Guetta Remix)
5. Wow (CSS Remix)
6. In My Arms (Chris Lake Vocal Mix)
7. In My Arms (Steve Pitron and Max Sanna Remix)
8. In My Arms (Sebastien Leger Remix)

Lindsay drops her spirit stick
Add Lindsay Lohan to the list of albums set to drop in the leadup to silly season. In her own words, Spirit In The Dark, her 3rd album, is Kylie meets Rihanna – which at first sounds exciting till you remember how Kylie sounded when she tried to do Rihanna on the last album.. Every man and his Maltese puppy got roped into the production of this one, including Timbaland, Bloodshy/Avant and Sam Sparro?! Potential brother-in-law Mark Ronson politely declined as he prefers to work with real musicians and singers (you know, like Robbie Williams). Current release date is November 4 in the US with single Playground (featuring Pharrell) on radio October 25 and US iTunes October 28.

I Am....Sasha Fierce
Beyonce has an alter ego! Her new album I Am features ballads by Beyonce and faster tracks by her alter ego Sasha Fierce. There will be a standard one-disc version with six Beyonce tracks and five Sasha tracks and a deluxe two-disc edition featuring nine Beyonce tracks and eight Sasha tracks. Get it? To make matters more confusing she is also apparently filming videos for almost all tracks like she did with the reissue of B'day. No idea where that disc is going to go!
